HANGOUT WITH SIMI

Image
Hi guys, it's been a minute, but we have another teen here.  Yaay!!! Okayy, our next guest is a really good friend of mine. Simi's super outspoken and absolutely fun to be with. She's fourteen years old, enjoys singing and dancing, and doesn't think feminism is as great as people think it is.  She'd also like to think she's a pretty good actress. I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy this session as much as I did. Let's dive in. What is the festive period like for you? I feel this festive period will be awesome for me, because we have a family tradition where we all gather to celebrate Christmas and new year together. I'm really excited about it. Who/ What motivates you? My mother. She motivates me, She tries her best to provide all that I need, and the least I can do is make her proud. Are you looking forward to being an adult?  Really, I'm not. The world seems to be so hard on adults, and I'm just not ready to go out into th...

You're growing! Slowly but steadily.

Feeling : Loved Time: 1:48 pm Growth is a word that's been at the back of my mind for a while now. Some days ago, my brother was telling me about how he felt he hadn't learnt so much in this one year of guitar training; he felt he should have been better. He was downloading some of his you tube videos, and he was like, "I should be this good already'. I reminded him that those ones were probably taught by physical teachers and have been at it for years and years. I told him that as far as I was concerned, I think he has come such a long way. His constant dedication and commitment to getting better is worthy of note. He has no teacher, mind you. I told him every one around him has clearly seen the growth in him, and he'll get better as years go by. I have been feeling this way of late, seeing everyone else do stuff, genuinely celebrating their growth, and clearly despising mine, but we all learn. It's easier to encourage someone else. It's easi...

Making the best of every fresh line.

Feeling: sleepy  Time: 2:20 pm The year has almost come to an end. Wow! I remember the beginning of this year. Quite a lot has happened, and I'm thankful for how far I have come. I'm thankful for a lot of things. I've cried a lot this year, but I have smiled and laughed way way way more than I have cried. Every year has different trials, different things that test your strength, your beliefs your faith... Some years are harder than others. On reflection, 2016-2018 have had differently themed tests, passed some, failed some, in all, I have come out wiser, and I am still on the mission of being a strong woman in every sense of the phrase. I believe it's important to reflect on things, not only yearly; but daily, hourly, weekly. Only makes one wiser. I'm thankful for a lot of things. I am thankful because I believe all things are working together for my good regardless of how bleak things may seem right now. I am super thankful for this blog, my litt...

There's no one size fits all rule for dating

Image
Feeling: Sleepy Time: 11:43 am Holaa!! it feels like it's been ages... I'm watching a very silly movie with my brother, it's so cheesy, so much that we are predicting everything, and we are getting it right. Anywhos, yesterday, while we were making dinner, my sister and I were awwing and oohing at  Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas' wedding photos . They are so pretty! Mom had to ask us why we were squealing. Later at night, as we were slowly drifting off to sleep, we were talking about what Nick said about really knowing and dating her for 5 months and then just knowing they were right for each other. I have heard of shorter dating periods. 3-4 months, and I must say, I am very intrigued whenever I hear such stories. Some of these people last so long; they never divorce,  while some 'grow out of love'. Different strokes for different folks, you know. While there's absolutely not one size fits all rule for dating, I generally wouldn't advice ...

Happy Hump day plus fun links

Feeling: super lazy Time: 1:25pm Hey y'all, how's your week going? Just made some cookies with my sister. I don't think there's any exciting thing I have coming my way (that I know of). So, I have a few fun things around the internet you might like to read. Enjoy! Who knew you could  fry Okra ? I know about okra being in salad, I know about it being cooked as soup; never heard of it being fried. I guess we learn new stuff every time. Important stuff  you can learn about marriage even as a single person. Awww this is such a  sweet love story  made me smile so wide.  The  first five paragraphs  tugged at my heart's strings. We should learn to celebrate our little victories. She swapped her morning routine  to self care practices and saw changes. I wake up and stay on the bed for an extra hour lol. How to reduce  technology's hold  on your child and even you. My friend sent me  this song  and I loved every...

The simplest Banana bread recipe ever!

Image
Feeling: Content Time: Started yesterday, ended today. I really think banana cake should be called ... I really think banana bread should be called banana cake or something like that. It's way way easier than the regular bread that requires about an hour of proving in total and proper kneading. I had been wanting to try this out for quite a while now, and I eventually tried it out yesterday and it was perrfeeccttt. My siblings loved it so much. Side note: my first brother, thinks I'm the most adventurous with food, probably after my dad.  Means a lot tehehe. Sister wanted that title though. Okay, this banana bread requires very few ingredients: 3 ripe Bananas 1 1/2 cups of flour 2 Eggs 2 tablespoons of melted margarine 1 teaspoon of Baking powder A pinch of Salt 7 tablespoons of Sugar (up to you, really) Directions. In a bowl, mash three ripe Bananas with a fork, till it's pulpy. In another bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar and mix....

Feeling: Sleepy Time: 2:32pm Holaa! Buenas tardes. Cómo estaís? (😉) Well, I'm good myself. Just sleepy.  It's the middle of the week. Trust you've been fine so far. I like reading a lot. Not necessarily overly serious stuff.  Just different stuff all around the internet. I have some pretty fun links for you to check out. I may be some type of weird, but having fun links to check out gives me some kind of boost. For instance, if I have a lot of work to do, and I have some interesting stuff to read on the internet, it serves as some kind of incentive for me. Oh! I'm not sure if you remember, but  last week  , I told you I'd try to make these cookies . I did, and my siblings loved them!! Enjoy! This  69 year old man  wants to change his age legally.  Found this funny and weird. Failing is a feeling long before it becomes an actual result. Michelle Obama's  interview with Oprah Winfrey  is everything!! Even  six year...
