Happy Hump day plus fun links

Image
Feeling: super lazy Time: 1:25pm Hey y'all, how's your week going? Just made some cookies with my sister. I don't think there's any exciting thing I have coming my way (that I know of). So, I have a few fun things around the internet you might like to read. Enjoy! Who knew you could  fry Okra ? I know about okra being in salad, I know about it being cooked as soup; never heard of it being fried. I guess we learn new stuff every time. Important stuff  you can learn about marriage even as a single person. Awww this is such a  sweet love story  made me smile so wide.  The  first five paragraphs  tugged at my heart's strings. We should learn to celebrate our little victories. She swapped her morning routine  to self care practices and saw changes. I wake up and stay on the bed for an extra hour lol. How to reduce  technology's hold  on your child and even you. My friend sent me  this song  and I loved every bit of it. It's been on repeat

The simplest Banana bread recipe ever!

Image
Feeling: Content Time: Started yesterday, ended today. I really think banana cake should be called ... I really think banana bread should be called banana cake or something like that. It's way way easier than the regular bread that requires about an hour of proving in total and proper kneading. I had been wanting to try this out for quite a while now, and I eventually tried it out yesterday and it was perrfeeccttt. My siblings loved it so much. Side note: my first brother, thinks I'm the most adventurous with food, probably after my dad.  Means a lot tehehe. Sister wanted that title though. Okay, this banana bread requires very few ingredients: 3 ripe Bananas 1 1/2 cups of flour 2 Eggs 2 tablespoons of melted margarine 1 teaspoon of Baking powder A pinch of Salt 7 tablespoons of Sugar (up to you, really) Directions. In a bowl, mash three ripe Bananas with a fork, till it's pulpy. In another bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar and mix.

HAPPY HUMP DAY!!! Plus fun links.

Feeling: Sleepy Time: 2:32pm Holaa! Buenas tardes. Cómo estaís? (😉) Well, I'm good myself. Just sleepy.  It's the middle of the week. Trust you've been fine so far. I like reading a lot. Not necessarily overly serious stuff.  Just different stuff all around the internet. I have some pretty fun links for you to check out. I may be some type of weird, but having fun links to check out gives me some kind of boost. For instance, if I have a lot of work to do, and I have some interesting stuff to read on the internet, it serves as some kind of incentive for me. Oh! I'm not sure if you remember, but  last week  , I told you I'd try to make these cookies . I did, and my siblings loved them!! Enjoy! This  69 year old man  wants to change his age legally.  Found this funny and weird. Failing is a feeling long before it becomes an actual result. Michelle Obama's  interview with Oprah Winfrey  is everything!! Even  six year olds  have a lot to thin

THE TEENS CORNER! Hangout with MotherGold.

Hola, So, last week we started the series on teenagers, where we chat with them, get to know what's going on in their minds about different things. We hung out with fourteen year old  Marie  who told us about why she doesn't think it's advisable to date anyone at her age. Today, we'll be hanging out with MotherGold who's seventeen years old, a student of Caleb University in Nigeria. She's currently studying International Relations. The first time I met MotherGold, the first thing that really struck me was her very unique name, a plus was that she was quite friendly. Let's dive in! Hi MotherGold, what's a typical Saturday like for you? Um it's a lazy day for me in school, I just watch movie and play, but when I'm home it's a busy day. Who / what motivates you? Well, my dad inspires me. What do you think turning 18 would change for you? Turning 18 will change my way of thinking and behaving. Well, my life generally. H

Journaling: Be free. Be silly. Be you.

Feeling: Pissed (coming out of it though) Time: 12:55pm You have probably guessed (with this blog)  that I like journaling a lot. I don't know if it's weird (frankly don't care), but my favorite section of any shopping mall is the stationery section. Gosh! I could live there. I like the cute pens, sparkly pens, highlighters, and most of all cute notepads. I'm a sucker for stuff like that. After this section are the biscuits and chocolates aisles. so darn cute.  I currently own about five (six, technically ) cute notepads. Frankly speaking, I need more. Let me tell you their uses. 1. For personal growth and development.  I don't write in it so often. It was a gift given to me when I turned 20. 2. I use this for Spanish lessons which I've been slacking so badly in. I keep telling myself I should pick it up and be better. Now that I'm publicizing it, I'll be more faithful about it. Perhaps for every blog post, you'll get a little bit

THE TEENS CORNER! Hangout with Marie.

Hi guyssss! If you noticed, I didn't input the 'Feeling' and 'Time' feature today. Well that's because... drum rolls please. I'm starting a new series on the blog!! What's more exciting is the fact that it's all about Teenagers!!!! I don't know if you know, but teenagers are my favorite set of people in the world. So, I decided that we need to get to know teenagers, on a more intimate level. Let's see what they think about different things. Over the next few weeks (or more) we'll be hanging out with teens!!!  How cool is that?! Who knows? This might help you relate better with a teen near you. So, let's get to know our first guest.  I'm super stoked. Her name is COMOE MARIE-CAMILLE and she's 14 years old and a full time fan of Cardi B . I asked her a bunch of questions, some of her answers  made me smile, and some made me think really hard.  Let's dive in. Hi Marie, What's a typical Saturday like for you?

Too many Yesses could ruin you.

Feeling: Bland  Time: 12:34am I recently saw one funny high school ish movie,  Good kids which was about a  group of friends who claimed they were never invited to parties throughout highschool, hence, their plan for the summer was to say Yes to everything. They did say Yes to everything, they attended all the parties and did all the stuff that students in high school movies do, and some things they shouldn't have done. Of course, they had crazy fun. After I watched it, I was left to think about the kind of person I am. A 'yes' person? Or a 'no' person? So many times we keep being told to learn to say NO without feeling guilt afterwards. I think it's a good thing; Learning to stand your ground ; Learning to say 'No' when you really want to say No. While Yes comes naturally to many people, I also think it's important to know when to say 'Yes'. Like every other thing, there must be some balance. Too many Yes's could ruin you,

What to do with 30,000 dollars!

Feeling: No right words Time: 11:11am This is just a random post. Last week, while we (my siblings and I)  were making dinner, we were discussing different random things when one of my brothers, the older one asked what we'll do if we were given 30,000 dollars each at this point in our lives. That's a lot of money, and we all delved into what we'd use the money for. My brother was so hilarious, he said everything down to the last dollar. Like he was actually calculating every little thing, we made fun of him 'cos he acted as though he truly expected the money. My sister planned to save hers till she's done with school, so she can travel the world. She'd also give mom a farm, and daddy, some money. Err I can't really remember what my other brother said. Oh oh! he said he'll wait till he's done with school, so he can think about what he'd need it for. He planned to give the 'rents some money too. I told them I'd buy land in Nige

My little guide on relationships.

Feeling: Light Time: 9:03am My heart feels really light, and if I were a superstitious person, I'd say something good will happen today. I feel anxious in a good way, like I'm expecting something. Let's see how the day goes. I'll probably give an update at the end of the day; I'll let you guys know if something good truly happened or not. Maybe it's not about me sef. Whew! Okay, I often think about how men are really different from women and how we have so many misunderstandings arising from these differences that seem to pop up everytime. This isn't really about feminism or any of that stuff. One wish of mine is for everyone to come to some understanding, to reach a compromise of some sorts, but I think that as human beings, selflessness isn't really our strongest forte. Side note: I'm growing out my nails. I've read two or three books that talk about the intrinsic differences between a man and a woman. How men are more logical and wom
